Kurtis founded Rooftop Financial with the belief that the best financial decisions happen when tax planning and financial planning work together. For more than two decades, he has been helping individuals, families, and business owners make confident financial decisions through personalized advice, proactive planning, and lasting relationships built on trust.
As both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Financial Advisor, Kurtis provides comprehensive guidance that goes beyond managing investments or preparing tax returns. He takes the time to understand each client's unique goals, values, and circumstances, then develops thoughtful strategies designed to help them build, protect, and preserve their wealth through every stage of life. His areas of expertise include tax planning, investment management, retirement planning, cash flow and debt management, risk management, education planning, and legacy planning.
Kurtis graduated from Wright State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. He began his career as a student intern with Brown Tax Consulting, became a Certified Public Accountant in 2008, and was named a partner of Brown & Campbell CPAs in 2009. That same year, he founded Rooftop Financial to complement the firm's tax and accounting services by offering integrated financial planning and investment management. Following the 2019 merger of Brown & Campbell CPAs with Polman & Talmage, the accounting firm became PTBC CPAs.
As Rooftop Financial continued to grow, the financial advisory practice expanded into a thriving business of its own. In 2026, Kurtis established Rooftop Financial as an independent firm, separating it from PTBC CPAs while continuing to provide clients with the same coordinated, tax-intelligent financial guidance and personalized service that have been the foundation of his practice.
Kurtis holds Ohio life and health insurance licenses as well as FINRA Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities registrations. Since 2009, he has provided financial services through Avantax, which has since aquired by Cetera Wealth Services, LLC., using a tax-intelligent approach to help clients pursue their financial goals with clarity and confidence.
Known for his approachable style and genuine commitment to the people he serves, Kurtis believes the strongest financial plans are built on trust, communication, and long-term partnerships. When he's not working with clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and giving back through charitable and community activities.
